I'm terribly sorry that I had vanished for some time! I needed some time off and went to hide at my art account. But now I'm back, at least I hope I am. I'll try to put this account up-to-date again, really. Please don't think that I don't appreciate your faves and comments and friend's ads. I do, very much. But sometimes I don't feel at all to make comments and update my journal.

Recently I stalked again crows with my camera and started to take more photos of water lilies. I've started using a different RAW editor today, but I still have to get accustomed to it. It offers more features than the one of Canon and in this one I can directly crop the photos and save them as .jpg, without having to first save them as .tif and then cropping them in IrfanView. And another good point is that the EXIF information will be added automatically. But on the other hand I'm afraid, they now will be of a smaller size. I hope you'll still find them useful and like them, though! One first example is "Crow No. 7".

I'm awfully behind with features, I know. That's the first thing I'd like to do now, as I donated a feature of the winning entries for `shelldevil's Mucha Contest and for the Customise Us contest run by *wesurvived. Here they come.

This is a group `pendlestock has set up to bring together survivors (and affected family members and friends) of physical, sexual and domestic violence." They are still looking for prize donators. By the way... =Mollinda is saving money to buy a Canon EOS 400D and therefore is selling a set of prints currently. It's limited to 10 sets and each set will come with an original sketch by her. Have a look in her journal.

... one more week gone.

I've played my favourite MUD last evening and I had much fun again, after roughly one and a half months since my last visit there. So according to this entry, I'm on my way to hell: [link] Oh, playing was really fun and I think I'm going to play it more often again!

Something I wanted to tell you last week already:
The wonderful and kind *luffsfromafriend made me a gift! It's a stamp, my friends here on dA can use to support me. I love it, because those water lilies are among my personal favourites.

Following a Tolkien Stock Casting Call by =lindowyn-stock I've decided to sew a costume inspired by the Lord of the Rings for a shoot. And I'm terribly curious what kind of character you suppose I'm going to depict. Therefore I've put on my first poll ever here on dA (sorry for these two "undefined" answer buttons!): "Lord of the Rings" costume poll. I'm afraid though, that it'll take some time for me to finish that costume as I'm a beginner on sewing. The current state of the project is, that I've bought some of the fabric and other stuff needed. I plan to do a first shoot, when I've finished 80% of the costume and then another with the finished costume.

Last Saturday I bought the first strawberries this year and had sugared strawberries with cream and some little meringues. It was very delicious!

Things to do:
- write my journal entry for my texture project
- start submitting the textures after writing that journal entry
- go on refining my contribution for the Resource hunter team
- making my LotR costume
- submit more stock photos
- install Blender and get familiar with it

I've still got plans for making more Literature Templates. Besides: if you happen to be a writer on DA and want to print your literature, then I'd really appreciate constructive criticism on my Template. I've added a thread regarding this theme in my forum. Please feel welcome to comment there!

I still don't feel like updating my journal or commenting or thanking for comments and faves during the last days. And I'm still behind. I'll try to bring my account up-to-date again during the next days, really. I'm sorry if I didn' answer your comments or thanked you for friends ads or faves, but sometimes I don't feel like writing comments. But let me assure you that do appreciate each comment, fave and friend's ad very much!

My mood isn't gloomy anymore... at least if I don't ponder about ticks. I saw a healthiness guide on TV today and among other subjects it covered ticks and their dangers. They mentioned that every forth tick in Germany can infect humans with the Lyme disease and that another tick species is spreading in Germany. This one is said to be a "prey tick", not passively waiting for victims, but rather actively approaching them as soon as they come within one metre distance. And it is said that this tick can infect humans with other diseases. It seems to occur rarely yet, but the whole notion gives me the creeps!

This comes at a time when I planned to buy a second tripod. I've got a big sturdy one. But I'd like to have one for lower distances from the ground floor for photographing flowers or mushrooms. I'm contemplating to buy the "Velbon CX-460 Mini" you can see here on the German Amazon page: [link] . It should be the first hit on this page: [link] . Someone wrote a review on the Germen Amazon page, stating that he successfully used this tripod with the Canon EOS 400D, which is the cam I'm using. What do you think of this tripod?
