Better mood, not many news...

I still don't feel like updating my journal or commenting or thanking for comments and faves during the last days. And I'm still behind. I'll try to bring my account up-to-date again during the next days, really. :blushes: I'm sorry if I didn' answer your comments or thanked you for friends ads or faves, but sometimes I don't feel like writing comments. :-( But let me assure you that do appreciate each comment, fave and friend's ad very much!

My mood isn't gloomy anymore... at least if I don't ponder about ticks. I saw a healthiness guide on TV today and among other subjects it covered ticks and their dangers. They mentioned that every forth tick in Germany can infect humans with the Lyme disease and that another tick species is spreading in Germany. This one is said to be a "prey tick", not passively waiting for victims, but rather actively approaching them as soon as they come within one metre distance. And it is said that this tick can infect humans with other diseases. It seems to occur rarely yet, but the whole notion gives me the creeps! :crying:

This comes at a time when I planned to buy a second tripod. I've got a big sturdy one. But I'd like to have one for lower distances from the ground floor for photographing flowers or mushrooms. I'm contemplating to buy the "Velbon CX-460 Mini" you can see here on the German Amazon page: [link] . It should be the first hit on this page: [link] . Someone wrote a review on the Germen Amazon page, stating that he successfully used this tripod with the Canon EOS 400D, which is the cam I'm using. What do you think of this tripod?

Things to do:
- write my journal entry for my texture project
- start submitting the textures after writing that journal entry
- go on making my entry for the Resource hunter team
- submit more stock photos
- install Blender and get familiar with it

I've still got plans for making more Literature Templates. Besides: if you happen to be a writer on DA and want to print your literature, then I'd really appreciate constructive criticism on my Template. I've added a thread regarding this theme in my forum. Please feel welcome to comment there! :-)

Contest pimping
:bulletpurple: I'd like to pimp a contest. Many of you might already know it and some surely have taken part. It's about one image, one week time and your creativity. I'm talking of the createbyweek weekly contest, run by #createbyweek, of course. Deadline: you get a new chance every week. Sounds good, doesn't it? ;-)

:bulletpurple: There's a contest hold by one of my new DA friends. If you're a fan of the Art Noveau style, then go and visit `shelldevils page. She's hosting a contest to celebrate her 4th year as a stocker on DA. The contest theme is Mucha! Deadline is June 29.

:new::bulletpurple: A new contest has started. It's the "Technology & Nature" Contest hold by =kuschelirmel-stock, lasting until June 27th 2008 midnight Berlin time. To sum it up in `kuschelirmel's words: "This contest is all about bringing nature and technology into one photomanip or digital mixed media piece."

Have a look at these contests, grab your graph tablet and enter! :-)

Hiya! tripod loks good, i'm not a fan of velbon but i think they're quality has improved over the last few years...personally i'd be tempted to go with a benbomini if you want a smaller tripod, or maybe a gorrilapod...more flexibility in the use, or if you can afford it, the giotto(or gitzo...can never remember which) which is full size tripod but the centre section can be moved to any position independant of the legs....very much like the benbo, but the benbo uses one bolt and so is unwieldy to use one handed....! but both the benbo and gitzo can get down to ground level easily and into odd positions if you are photographing something half up a ditch...lol!
